Who Am I?
Emerson Cole is full-time freelance sound mixer based in Chicago.
I started my filmmaking journey at Columbia College Chicago with a focus on directing. I then pushed to get on set as often as possible. I worked in many different departments all throughout my time there. Early on as G+E and assistant camera. I then moved towards assistant directing, production design and sound. Sound Mixing ended up sticking as my job description for the last two years of college.
When I graduated in 2021, I worked as I did through college, on many different positions, like editing, videography, sound mixing and production assistant. I worked for some larger shows like Big Brother Season 23 and Apple TV's The Shining Girls.
After every show, I decided to buy more equipment, and as my sound career started to take off, I kept getting more sound equipment. In 2021 I started to work with national brands and mixed my first TV show. In 2022 I continued to rise and worked with more notable brands and shows. Some brands I have worked for are Amazon Music Rotation, New Balance, USBank, and Abbott. I have also worked on more shows and movies, for the likes of LG and Starz.
