My name is Emerson Cole, a graduate of Columbia College Chicago. I have experience in many types of production mediums, including but not limited to film, TV, theatre, live events, industrials, and documentary work in various positions. I have been working steadily since graduation and want to continue doing so.
I have been working as a sound mixer since 2018 and have been growing my knowledge since. I really started to build out my sound resume in 2021 with the various types of jobs I was contracted for. I was sound mixer on a tier 1b feature film and worked with a boom operator. I recorded audio for interviews of celebrity artists for Amazon Music Rotation at Dreamville Festival, an indie TV show called Upside Brown where I controlled up to eight different wireless tracks and sometimes duel boom with my operator and myself, Chicago Marathon on the B camera team for a commercial for Abbott where I walked about 10 miles with my kit while capturing different subjects and ambient sound, and a documentary show on LG TVs called The Rivalries where I did interviews, Verite style, and boomed an entire lacrosse game for three and a half hours.
For a while, I have been growing my sound package. I currently am running a Sound Devices Mix Pre 10 ii, Schoeps CMIT 5U, two Lectrosonics LT/LR with Cos11d lavs, Røde NTG 3, and Røde Wireless Go II transmitters and receiver with Countryman B3 lavs. I own a Comtek transmitter and three receivers, two Denecke JB-1 Timecode boxes and Denecke TS-C timecode slate. I also have a relationship with Cinespace's Second City Sound to rent from as well as other local rental houses if needed to rent.
Given my drive to learn, I want to make your project better by having such dedication to doing better. With my quick technical knowledge, I will be able to accomplish any task given to me.

I worked with a boom operator to capture the sound of the full-length film. I used all my own gear with some supplemented rentals for extra wires. I used a Schoeps CMIT 5U, Lectosonics with COS11D, Denecke timecode systems, and comteks.

I worked on the Illinois and Indiana unit for a crime documentary for Starz. I worked with a small crew following victims of rape and abuse from a mega-church in Indiana. I had to work with the cinematographer and director closely as we were exposing a church of its terrible doings. I was not allowed to touch some talent for the fact they were victims.

I recorded audio for the show shot in Plymouth, WI. I used the provided kit of a SD 633 and 664, Sanken CS3e, Sennheiser MKH416, Lectrosonics UCR411a, SMV, SMQV and SRb, and Ambient Lockit. I followed the production book for the very tight schedule we had following the event around.

I recorded audio for the sit down interview with the owner of Funky Fresh Spring Rolls. I also captured some ambient sound for the editors. I used lavs, a boom, had camera hops and jammed timecode. I also gave a feed to a zoom call for remote clients.

I helped with the interviews and run and gun-style shooting for the rivalry story of NCAA Lacrosse teams from Washington College and Salisbury University. I used an Atomos Ultra Sync for timecode and worked with 2-3 cameras and one day with another sound mixer.

I put on a plant mic, held a boom mic, and laved the talent who performed at Dreamville Festival 2022, celebrities like Lil Wayne, JID, J Cole, T-Pain, Lil Baby, and more. It was for interviews at the Pop Shot, used for social media for Amazon Music Rotation.

I was a sound mixer for a New Balance commercial. I captured the ambiance and additive sound effects for the shoot. I wired three talent, one being a 5-year-old boy. I used a Sennheiser MKH50, Rode NTG 3, Lectrosonics LR/LT with Tram TR50, and Rode Wireless Go II with Countryman B3 for the kid.

I am the lead sound mixer of the show, working closely with my boom operator. I wireless lav upwards to eight talent at once and control levels with addition to boom when needed. I am also in charge of making sure the timecode is synced to two cameras and the smart slate.
